SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) offers a solid salary package under the 7th Pay Commission for posts like Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Postal Assistant (PA), and Sorting Assistant (SA). The starting basic pay ranges from ₹19,900 to ₹29,200 depending on the post and pay level.
The starting in-hand salary for SSC CHSL posts ranges from ₹24,175 to ₹36,555, depending on the post and city of posting. After standard deductions like NPS, CGHS, and CGEGIS, the in-hand salary broadly ranges between ₹39,000 to ₹51,000.
The salary varies significantly based on your city of posting. HRA is 30% for X-category cities, 20% for Y-category cities, and 10% for Z-category cities of basic pay. Transport Allowance ranges from ₹1,800 to ₹5,400 depending on location, and the Dearness Allowance (DA) currently stands at 58% of basic pay from July 2025.
